What do you think about Barack Obama running for president? Do you think he will be the first African American president?

After the service today I decided to look up the meaning of Sen. Obama’s name. He stated that his name has East African roots but he likens it to the Hebrew word baruch which means “blessed”. However, I would like to say that his name should be likened to the Hebrew word “barak” which means lightning.

When I meditated on the question posted above, I heard “arrow, shot straight”. What does this mean? Will he be the next president of these United States? I believe that he ordained for this time as an instrument. Just as lightning has a purpose, an arrow has a purpose and target, so does Sen. Obama. The key to his fulfillment will be the “straightness” of his journey. He has been shot straight. If he remains so, then he will hit his target. However, if he does not, he will miss.

This is why it is mandatory that we pray for him. Pray for not only his integrity, but the integrity of those that surround him. Remember, bad associations corrupt good manners ( I didn’t say it, the Word did). Let’s make sure that we lift him up so that his desire to be righteous supercedes his desire to be right.

Saturday, prior to prayer one of the sisters’ and myself were discussing black leadership. I expressed my concern in that we as a people often expect “favors” when we have elected one of our own into any type of authoritative position. She stated that she also knew of people that felt that “we” weren’t ready for a “Black” president. Her views however were different than others. She mentioned to me that it was time for “us” as we are capable and empowered just like any one else. I had to agree.
Now I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know if the nation is ready for an African American president so to speak. However, I learned a long time ago that regarding protocol - God ordains leaders. Every leader ordained by God; whether they confess Him as Lord or not, is submitted to His plan for that time and that season.
I stand with Mrs. Norwood that our job is to pray concerning the integrity of Barack’s operational system as well as the operation and strategy of the host that surrounds him. All that said, we must infuse Barack with the same DNA that we are being infused with when we gather to pray. I was convicted for not going to UIC and hearing the “plan“ that Obama has in order to accurately pray the plan that God has concerning him and us. This was an opportunity to literally anoint the man of God for service.
Is Barack capable - absolutely - as is any arrow assigned to its target? The real question in my opinion is - who is shooting the bow. Should Obama run for president of the United States? ABSOLUTELY. Will he be the first African American president? As God ordains.

Yes, I strongly beleive that Barack Obama will be the first African American president? How can I be so confident? The word of God tells us that nothing happens unless it is revealed first to the prophets. I bear witness that on January 22, 2006 our Apostle (Anthony Earl) prophesied that Sentor Obama would be the first African American president. If that’s not enough then go with me to the word of God. (Numbers 23:19) “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He sould repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall He not make it good?” It is so written! No man can curse what/who God has already blessed. It’s Barack Obama’s destiny and as believers we have been given the responsibility to war for his prophesy, to pray for the integrity of his heart and the skillfulness of his hands and above all else to pray that GOD be glorified.
