The scripture Apostle used,Ephesians 6:18, resonates strongly with me, as God has been unpackaging it to me for the past few years. It is so very important to be equiped as Paul describes in the previous verses(peace, truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, the Word of God). But synergy and coordination as well as timeliness and effectiveness are not a work for human ingenuity. However, when the Spirit of God can flow through us as He pleases, then we realize the synergy, coordination, timeliness, as well as effectiveness. The thing that facilitates this process is praying in the Spirit.
Knowing when to use which weapon isn't altogether a learned skill. Yes, we must learn the value of each weapon and how to use it, but the victor emerges because he has learned to hear and execute what commands come from his commander. The skill in the use of the weapons but help us to accomplish the directive or instruction from the commander.
So, when to do what? how? to whom? how long? To be able to move in and out, up and down, firm then soft, rough then gentle, cutting to destroy or cutting to heal, swinging a hammer to tear down or swinging a hammer to build. Praying in the Spirit helps us to shift with accuracy and fruitfulness in a way that human ingenuity cannot compete or compare.
Jesus said my sheep hear my voice...the sheep follow him:for they know his voice. And a stranger they will not follow...If you abide in me and my word abide in you, then ask what you wish and it shall be done...Paul preached to Athenians that it is in God that we live, and move, and have our being...

So, after I have studied, observed, researched, tested, and tried, I still need to pray in the Spirit and get Papa God's direction and instuction.

God will guide and direct, even when we don't see it, understand it, agree with it, or know how to work it. Whatever we bind or loose, or decree, then it shall be done.

I need to invest in the time and energy to position myself to hear and obey the Voice of the Lord, then walk in the abundance that he leads me into.

I feel there is much more that I gained from Saturday's prayer, but do not have the time to express.

Yes, I strongly beleive that Barack Obama will be the first African American president? How can I be so confident? The word of God tells us that nothing happens unless it is revealed first to the prophets. I bear witness that on January 22, 2006 our Apostle (Anthony Earl) prophesied that Sentor Obama would be the first African American president. If that's not enough then go with me to the word of God. (Numbers 23:19) "God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He sould repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall He not make it good?" It is so written! No man can curse what/who God has already blessed. It's Barack Obama's destiny and as believers we have been given the responsibility to war for his prophesy, to pray for the integrity of his heart and the skillfulness of his hands and above all else to pray that GOD be glorified.

Saturday, prior to prayer one of the sisters’ and myself were discussing black leadership. I expressed my concern in that we as a people often expect "favors" when we have elected one of our own into any type of authoritative position. She stated that she also knew of people that felt that “we” weren’t ready for a “Black” president. Her views however were different than others. She mentioned to me that it was time for "us" as we are capable and empowered just like any one else. I had to agree.
Now I'll be honest with you, I don't know if the nation is ready for an African American president so to speak. However, I learned a long time ago that regarding protocol - God ordains leaders. Every leader ordained by God; whether they confess Him as Lord or not, is submitted to His plan for that time and that season.
I stand with Mrs. Norwood that our job is to pray concerning the integrity of Barack's operational system as well as the operation and strategy of the host that surrounds him. All that said, we must infuse Barack with the same DNA that we are being infused with when we gather to pray. I was convicted for not going to UIC and hearing the “plan“ that Obama has in order to accurately pray the plan that God has concerning him and us. This was an opportunity to literally anoint the man of God for service.
Is Barack capable - absolutely - as is any arrow assigned to its target? The real question in my opinion is - who is shooting the bow. Should Obama run for president of the United States? ABSOLUTELY. Will he be the first African American president? As God ordains.

After the service today I decided to look up the meaning of Sen. Obama's name. He stated that his name has East African roots but he likens it to the Hebrew word baruch which means "blessed". However, I would like to say that his name should be likened to the Hebrew word "barak" which means lightning.

When I meditated on the question posted above, I heard "arrow, shot straight". What does this mean? Will he be the next president of these United States? I believe that he ordained for this time as an instrument. Just as lightning has a purpose, an arrow has a purpose and target, so does Sen. Obama. The key to his fulfillment will be the "straightness" of his journey. He has been shot straight. If he remains so, then he will hit his target. However, if he does not, he will miss.

This is why it is mandatory that we pray for him. Pray for not only his integrity, but the integrity of those that surround him. Remember, bad associations corrupt good manners ( I didn't say it, the Word did). Let's make sure that we lift him up so that his desire to be righteous supercedes his desire to be right.
